Hid kit problems
Ive fitted a hid kit today and none of the headlights are working. Ive read that I might need a relay kit as one wasn't supplied with it. Has anyone who has fitted a hid kit needed a relay kit ? Thanks Dan

Re: Hid kit problems
yeah, this is what I don't understand, ive emailed a specialist hid company and they said trying switching the positive and negative wires around, but surely that'll blow the ballasts or bulbs up ?

Re: Hid kit problems
also where have you put the ballasts as I cant find anywhere suitable to put them
Hid kit problems
That's where my ballasts are mate
Only thing I can suggest about them not working Is the wires like you said try swapping them around where you've wired it up easy to mix up postitives and negatives.
Better to invest in a top pair of canbus ones - worth the extra £££

Re: Hid kit problems
As long as the red wire is running to the bulb holder wiring block (ie what the original H7 bulb plugged into) and the black wire the other one then it should all work. I've mounted my ballasts underneath the headlight unit, so its all tucked neatly out the way but has enough ventilation to keep the ballast cool. You don't need a CANBUS system as the Fiesta isn't that intelligent. If you have automatic headlights, you need to turn them on and off manually, not allow the auto function to do it for you as the loss of voltage when you start the engine results in the bulb and the ballast getting fried. Also this applies to a car which you have turned the lights on but not yet started the engine. Fried my first set in my Titanium doing that! Without seeing how you've wired it into the bulb holder I couldn't possibly say any more than that! If it blows it up send it back saying it was faulty, they won't know!!
