Type R to Zetec S

Post by GSchneider »

Hi everyone,

I have just picked up my 2010 Fiesta Zetec S in panther black,
she has only done 5000 miles the dealership I got the car from originally sold the vehicle to the 1 owner then he traded it back in for a white one.

She has the Street Pack and Bluetooth System and iPod Bits :D totally mark free inside and out, alloys are kerb free as well.

I have come from a 2008 Honda Civic Type R GT but I needed to reduce my costs as it was getting to much for me and I have owned a 2007 Fiesta ST before and I really liked the way it drove and handled (yes I change cars a lot in fact I have no had the same car for longer than 7 months, hoping I will this one). I have no plans for the car at all I am staying standard as I don't want to lose anymore more money on cars, I just wanted something that was fun to drive yet cheaper to own and still looked awesome, something the Zetec-S does well!

Bit about me I am 25 I am called Glen I live near chichester. I work for Tesco, I am a store manager but in my spare time I am detailer including full machine polishing. I have done a fair few FN2's due to being around them a lot. I will get some pics up of my work once I get time to do the the fiesta I am thinking Jetseal 109 to really bring out the flake in the panther black.

Anyway its nice to meet you all
All the best
Glen

The new girl: not outside my house, its where I park for work lol.

She was highly modded so a lot of money go into her sorry to see her go but she is no longer cost effective to own

Civic Had.

Tdi-South Fast road geometry Set up
Tein S tech lowering Springs 15mm front 20mm rear
Miltek Cat back
HKS Racing suction kit reloaded
Hondata Flash Pro
DBA 4000 front discs
Stoptech power slot rear discs
cosworth street master pads all round
HKS braided brake lines
Motul fluid
Full lights upgrade, all exterior bulbs upgraded and all interior bulbs

in all about 4-5k was spent on here.

On the fiesta is it just me or do you have to press the brake pedal right to the bottom before anything actually happens? is that normal or something worth have checked? it must just be me coming from the civic as after the mods al I had to do was hoover over the brake pedal and she stopped quickly..

I am fighting the urge to mod fiesta it needs lowering 30mm at least but I wanna protect my warranty this time. though I keep looking at the mountune stuff and lots of other styling bits. Also the puma speed rear disc conversion. Going to be upgraded all my front bulbs soon to phillips extremes :D

If you get the 30mm Eibach springs, they are Ford Approved, so if fitted at one of their approved garages will not affect your warranty

The mountune 155 upgrade only affects the warranty on the powertrain portion of the car

Personally wouldn't recommend the phillips bulbs, I had Philips X-Treme Power bulbs and they weren't much brighter or whiter than the standard bulbs and also one went after a couple of months

have you got a list of the ford approved garages?

What bulbs would you recommend as I want something with more light and not so yellow! without going for an illegal HID kit?

thank you all for your replies

Hi. I went for osram nightbreaker plus H1and H7 plus diadem bulbs for indicators. Happy so far. My brake pedal goes quite a long way. Feels like it lacks bite but the brakes are fine just needed time for me to get used to them.

Cheers, Neil.
